Our sponsorship program is built to provide businesses of all sizes with exposure to more than 600 independent artists, hundreds of regional arts organization leaders, and key community partners, all while helping to sustain our work.

Special Initiatives and Networks

  1. Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion
    The Arts Council is committed to creating an inclusive arts community here in Pittsburgh. Through one-on-one trainings, workshops, and peer networks, the Arts Council has continued to provide opportunities for area artists and organizations to improve their knowledge around DEAI.   2. Teaching Artist Initiative
    Originally launched in 2012 under the name “CreatorsMakersTeachers Network,” the Teaching Artist Initiative is a peer group that focuses solely on the needs of teaching artists through a variety of workshops, networking events, and a biennial symposium. Programs and Services for Artists and Arts Organizations

  1. Entrepreneurial Artist Workshops
    Each year the Arts Council curates a series of workshops designed for the specific needs of independent artists. These workshops are focused on the “business” side of being an artist and provide valuable resources and skill building. Learn more about these workshops.
  2. Business and Legal Services
    Artists and arts organizations can receive expert business and legal help at little to no cost through the Arts Council’s Business Volunteers for the Arts and Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. Artists and organizations are paired with a volunteer with a wealth of professional experience related to their area of concern.   3. HR Advisors
    Arts organizations are able to access free, confidential guidance on HR concerns through our HR Advisors service. Organizations can contact the hotline, where they have access to a team of knowledgeable human resources professionals through Compass Business Solutions. Learn more about HR Advisors.
