Manager of Communications 412.391.2060 x227 lcunningham[at]pittsburghartscouncil[dot]org
Lisa Cunningham (she/her) joined the Arts Council in February 2023 after a long tenure at Pittsburgh City Paper. Through her roles as both Editor in Chief and Art Director at the altweekly, she served as a champion for local artists and an advocate for underserved communities. Now, she brings her love of words and design (and an obsession with social media) to her role as Manager of Communications where she provides visibility and support to the region’s incredible arts community.
Originally from Central Pennsylvania, Lisa earned her journalism and communications degree from Point Park University and now lives on the North Side with her partner and three cats. When she’s not at work overseeing the organization’s communications and marketing efforts, you can often find her searching for street art, blasting Tom Waits on vinyl, reading a graphic novel, photographing her food, or attending a Pittsburgh Symphony performance and wishing she hadn’t given up the violin after a few short years.
