John Watt (he/him) joined the Arts Council in April 2023. As Manager of Development, he is involved with writing and developing funding proposals and reports, researching and assessing prospective donors, tracking application and reporting deadlines, and supporting the Director of Development and Grantmaking in shaping fundraising strategy, among other responsibilities. Prior to joining the Arts Council, John worked for over five years at Carnegie Science Center as part of their development team. He has also interned for the Atlantic Theater Company (New York City), The REV Theatre Company (Auburn, NY), and Theatre SilCo (Silverthorne, CO).
John is a graduate of Allegheny College in Meadville, PA, with a BA in Political Science and Theatre. Born in Rochester, NY, he moved to Pittsburgh in 2017. John is a comic with training from Arcade Comedy Theater, Unplanned Comedy Warehouse, and the Upright Citizens Brigade (New York City). He enjoys reading, collecting records, going to shows and the climbing gym, and being a cat dad to his 11-year-old tortie Bindi.
