Patrick Varriano

Patrick is a landscape artist whose favorite subjects are usually found on old farm sites and salvage yards in Western Pennsylvania. He finds old oil wells, out-buildings and rusted, abandoned machinery. He paints mostly in his studio from photographs he takes on site.

Patrick studied art at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and is a signature member of the following organizations: Baltimore Watercolor Society, North East Watercolor Society, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, and Pittsburgh Watercolor Society.

Patrick's work has won numerous awards when shown locally and nationally.

Patrick has also been featured in Watercolor Magazine (an American Artist publication) for his development of rough textures in earth tones.

Using techniques, he has developed over the years, he manages to show the viewer the beauty in usually overlooked places.
