Melessie Clark (she/her)

Melessie is an actor, singer, model, voiceover, and teaching artist. She attended Point Park University with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. She recently won the 2022 BroadwayWorld Pittsburgh Awards for Best Supporting Performer in a Play for her role as Risa in Two Trains Running by August Wilson and Best Supporting Performer in the musical An Untitled New Play by Justin Timberlake. Most recently, she’s performed in Pittsburgh CLO’s summer season productions Once on This Island and Into the Woods and the new Broadway-bound musical Goddess at Berkeley Repertory Theatre in Berkeley, California. 

Melessie has modeled for companies such as Macy’s, Gabes, and Rue21, and has been seen in both local and national commercials for T-Mobile, Campho-Phenique, and the Pennsylvania Lottery. She’s been heard as a voiceover artist for companies like Sheetz, Hershey Park, and Highmark Health Insurance. Melessie was a cast member for the TV series Farm Queens on the Great American Country Channel and featured in Netflix’s hit series Archive 81 and Billy Porter’s directorial debut film Anything’s Possible on Amazon Prime. Additionally, she has performed as a storyteller in The Faces of Black History sponsored by McDonald’s, and Pushcart Players’ The Velveteen Rabbit: Reborn where she has traveled across the country performing for children. Melessie has also performed in the Broadway musical After Midnight on the Norwegian Escape cruise ship, which celebrated the music and livelihood of the Cotton Club in Harlem, New York City.

A former competitor of the National American Miss Organization, Melessie was crowned Miss Pennsylvania Teen 2012 and Miss Pennsylvania 2014 and won several national titles including National Actress, Talent, Spokesmodel, and Top Model. She’s also competed in the Miss America Organization, where she was crowned Miss Steeltown 2012, Miss Pymatuning Lake Area 2014, and won the Interview and Talent awards for the Pennsylvania state pageant. A firm believer in giving back to her community, Melessie has shared her love for the arts by volunteering with Pittsburgh Princesses, performing at Princess Ball fundraisers, special events, and birthday parties to help raise money for human trafficking prevention, volunteering at the Three Rivers Arts Festival in Pittsburgh as a performer with Reed Dance Company, as well as teaching masterclasses to young, aspiring artists. She is a lifetime subscribing member of the Greensburg-Jeannette Branch NAACP where she served as Mistress of Ceremonies for several of their Annual Human Rights Banquets, mentored with their Girls Project, and volunteered with the organization at church events, food drives, and other programs through the year.
