Bio

Melanie Claxton became Senior Program Officer of the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation in June of 2021 and oversees the Foundation’s grants programs in education. She is currently Co-Chair Elect of the Pennsylvania School-Age Child Care Alliance (PENN SACCA), a committee member of the Allegheny Partners for Out-of-School Time (APOST) Executive Committee, a grant-making committee member of the Three Rivers Community Foundation, and a co‑founder of Benevine. Melanie earned her Master of Science in Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College and her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Michigan.
