Policy and Action Roundtables

Launched in 2026, the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council’s Policy and Action Roundtables are designed to strengthen dialogue, coordination, and collective action across Pittsburgh’s arts ecosystem and cultural sector.

These convenings bring together artists, cultural workers, policymakers, and civic leaders for focused, solutions-oriented conversations around public policy issues that directly impact the arts ecosystem. Each roundtable centers on specific policy themes, grounded in real-world experiences from the field, and creates space for shared learning, relationship-building, and collaborative problem-solving.

Rather than one-off conversations, Policy and Action Roundtables are designed as an ongoing platform for engagement. Insights gathered through these discussions will help inform advocacy priorities, elevate sector needs, and shape policy recommendations that advance equity, access, and long-term sustainability for arts and culture in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.

What These Roundtables Aim to Do

  • Build shared understanding of the policy and systems issues affecting artists, arts organizations, and cultural workers
  • Strengthen collective advocacy through informed dialogue and coordinated response
  • Foster collaboration and trust across the arts field and with public-sector partners
  • Translate lived experience into actionable insights that can influence policy and decision-making

Policy and Action Roundtables reflect the Arts Council’s commitment to advocacy that is grounded in community voice, responsive to current conditions, and focused on meaningful, long-term impact.
