Grant Announcement: Changes to PCA State Grant Programs

The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) recently announced changes to its state-funded grant programs, including that it will be sunsetting its Project Stream Grant program due to post-pandemic fiscal impacts and changes in funding priorities.

The Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council was proud to distribute several grants on behalf of the PA Council on the Arts (PCA) through the PA Partners in the Arts program, including Project Stream. The Arts Council has regranted more than $90,000 annually to artists, arts organizations, other non-profit organizations.

We are grateful for the art programming that the Project Stream Grant has supported over the years.

New Entry to Program Stream Funding Available Soon

Non-profit organizations with a 501(c)3 designation or a fiscal sponsor who typically applied to the Project Stream Grant are now eligible for a new state funding stream called Entry to Program Stream. This new funding opportunity aims to provide access to funding for small arts organizations and programs across the commonwealth. Entry to Program Stream is the new point of entry to ongoing support for arts organizations and programs that have annual revenue less than $200,000.

The PCA will post application guidelines this fall, and we will be sure to post this information on our website. The application deadline will be February 15, 2022. The Arts Council will continue to regrant these funds for Allegheny, Beaver, Greene, and Washington counties.

In the meantime, you can learn more about Entry to Program Stream here.

Save the Date for a New Grant Program: The Creative Entrepreneur Accelerator

The PCA has launched a new program to support creative entrepreneurs, helping them to grow their businesses and revenue. As the PPA Partner in the Arts, the Arts Council will also support the regranting of this new program, which opens its application portal in September 2021. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.

This program will provide access to quality small business consulting services and critical financial resources for creative entrepreneurs who aspire to start their own business or who operate an existing micro business. Eligible applicants can receive $500 to $2,000 in support once every three years.

Once all details have been finalized by the PCA, we will post all grant information on our website.
