Ash Chan (they/them/theirs/siya) is an educator, organizer, cultural worker, and nurturer of radical love, liberation, and healing. With broad leadership, advocacy and nonprofit experience, locally and nationally, Ash is passionate about emergent strategy, equity, and community care. Ash deeply believes in the catalytic powers of movement building, meaningful relationships, creativity, and accessibility to cultivate care, agency, possibility, joy, and wellness.
They are excited to join the Arts Council and celebrate and support the brilliant artists, creatives, and arts and culture leadership in our region. Ash provides direct support and engagement with artists through events, resource referrals, and programs. Ash also manages the Teaching Artist Initiative and Women in the Arts professional networks.
Outside of the Arts Council, Ash leads a pretty full and busy life, HERBan farming, and supporting mutual aid efforts in the community. When they do have down time, Ash enjoys cooking, reading, yoga, napping, hiking, and searching for the best noodle soups & dumplings in Pittsburgh.
