The Art on the Walls program was made for emerging and mid-career visual artists looking to display and sell their art, gain exposure, and develop clientele.
Eligibility
Visual artists living or working in Southwestern Pennsylvania are eligible. Artists must provide work samples created within the past five years. Artwork must be appropriate for the general public. We encourage art to be selected into collections.
Selection Process
Each Art on the Walls client location creates its own art selection committee to review artists in the program. Once a committee makes its selections, they will visit with the artist to view the work in person. Each committee is different in its style, vision, exhibition space, etc. Our Program Specialist works closely with the client and the artists to develop and install the exhibition.
Sales & Commissions
Artists receive 80% of each sale made through an Art on the Walls exhibition. The Arts Council charges a minimal 20% administration fee to support the program. In comparison, a typical gallery charges a fee up to 50%, while other nonprofit organizations charge 40%.
