Briefs are short research pieces that address a particular issue or question. Many are the result of questions asked by arts groups, funders, or members of government.

Philadelphia - Pittsburgh Voter Power Analysis

In 2010, the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council and the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance undertook an analysis to examine connections between voting and arts participation. The results revealed a high level of arts participation among regularly voting households.

Southwestern PA Culture Count

In 2010 the Arts Council conducted a "census" of nonprofit arts and culture organizations in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Green, Washington and Westmoreland counties.

Fiscal Pulse Surveys

These briefs present information on the fiscal health of local cultural organizations gathered from a series of anonymous, ongoing, periodic surveys that began in March of 2009.

Individual Giving to the Arts in Pittsburgh
