Are you a visual artist who is interested in learning about what is involved with creating public art projects? Perhaps you have already developed some artwork in the public realm, and are interested in other opportunities. This is your opportunity to learn about the field from people who commission public art. This all-day workshop (Printable Schedule) is designed to give you a conceptual framework about working in the field of public art including information about artist opportunities, fabrication and materials, legal issues, budgeting, working with communities, and planning for successful projects. The fee for this workshop is $25 ($21.00 for the Arts Council members) and includes lunch and a resource package. Reservations are required. Limited to 70 participants. Registration begins at 9am.
