With several Percent for Art opportunities on the horizon, Philadelphia's Public Art Program invites artists to submit an application with the Public Art Artist Registry.
The registry allows artists to participate in all selection processes by maintaining a record of their work that will be consulted by Public Art staff, panelists, architects, and City agencies as public art opportunities become available. The registry is open to all professional artists. There are no residency requirements for the registry, although some opportunities will be limited to the greater Philadelphia region. The Morton Arboretum, 25 miles west of Chicago, is seeking large-scale outdoor sculpture exhibits beginning in 2009. We encourage inquiries from artists whose work relates to our core themes--trees, shrubs, natural habitats, and the creatures that inhabit them in the upper Midwest.
The Tucson Airport Authority is seeking temporary art exhibits for the main Gallery and the Upper and Lower Link Galleries at Tucson International Airport.
Cazenovia, NY + Stone Quarry Hill Art Park Residency
The Artists In Residence Program officially began in 1991 with the incorporation of the Art Park. Since then 86 artists coming from twenty US states and eight foreign countries have participated. 85% of the outdoor art work on display at the Art Park was created by artists working in the Residence Program. In order to create a talent pool of qualified artists to draw from, Sound Transit's Public Art Program - STart - has established a commissioned artist roster. Artists of all media and experience levels are encouraged to apply. Commissions are offered based on project need, so not all artists on the roster will receive a commission.
