The Office of Public Art is launching a new, comprehensive web resource for art venues and art in public
places: Pittsburgh Art Places.
An art place is any location or venue that provides an art experience. These include theater, music, visual art, literary work, dance, and everything in between. In addition to traditional museums, theaters, and galleries, the local bar around the corner that has an open mic or the bookstore with a reading series can be an art place!
OPA is working with art places in the thirteen county region of Western Pennsylvania to create profiles on the website. We want you to be a part of it! Come to the information session to learn about the awesomeness that isPittsburgh Art Places and how to create a profile for your arts place. Registration is limited. If this session does not suit your schedule, stay posted for details about sessions hosted in each county between May and September.
The website is free for venues, and free for visitors thanks to the generous support of the Colcom Foundation and Hillman Family Foundation.
