Mission/Description
The mission of Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre is to engage and challenge audiences with thought-provoking theatre based on classical and Irish dramatic literature.  PICT believes classical theatre is accessible because it is relevant every day, bringing context and meaning to people's lives.  PICT also believes that the Irish dramatic aesthetic is universal and merits greater recognition- Irish playwrightes have made a significant and disproportionate contribution to Western drama. PICT's unique programming compares and contrasts classical and contemporary works, giving theatre goers a deeper understanding of the world in which we live. Through education and outreach, this understanding is extended to young people and the greater community. This distinct artistic vision is the basis on which plays are selected- plays that enrich, stimulate and entertain the mind and soul.

Mission/Description
The North Pittsburgh Philharmonic, founded in 1975 as the North Hills Civic Symphony, was created to afford local musicians the opportunity to play great works of classical music.  The orchestra south and obtained its nonprofit status in 1992 and since that time has emerged as an organization committed to artistic development and quality programming, with a goal of providing convenient and affordable access to classical and pops music to the greater Pittsburgh community.  Offering musical entertainment largely but not exclusively to the greater Pittsburgh community, the orchestra serves primarily families and senior citizens but welcomes all music lovers.  In addition, the Philharmonic offers educational programs for young musicians, including the opportunity to play side-by-side with seasoned musicians.

Under the dedicated leadership of our board of directors and Music Director Roger Tabler, the North Pittsburgh Philharmonic has matured both as an organization and as an orchestra.  Today, it is recognized as a community orchestra with strength and depth, routinely and successfully performing the multimedia theatrical concerts that have become our hallmark.
