FOR CREATIVE COLLABORATION - ADVANCES IN CAPACITY BUILDING
City
Theatre Company & Cast of Caterers,the fourteen bars, restaurants,
catering firms and food and beverage companies that support 30+
fundraising and audience development events each year.
Pittsburgh
Symphony & Arnie and Kathie Green of Nartak Media Group
for addressing a limited marketing budget for single ticket campaigns
by developing numerous media sponsorships.
Union
Project & CMU's Institute
for the Management of Creative Enterprises for researching
and compiling a "best practices" model for Union
Project Potters, the organization's social enterprise venture.
AWARD FOR
CREATIVE COLLABORATION - EXCELLENCE IN AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT
City
Theatre Company & Dick's Sporting Goods, Pittsburgh Pirates,
Tribune Review for their unique contributions to building public
awareness for Honus & Me, the City Theatre's first family
production.
Silk Screen
Asian American Festival & Wall-to-Wall Studios for creating
the identity, logo, marketing strategy, website and collateral
materials to launch the brand new organization with style and
panache.
Tickets
for Kids Foundation & Toshiba Business Solutions of Western
Pennsylvania for publishing a newsletter that builds public awareness,
recognizes donors, and contributes to fundraising efforts.
ARTS EDUCATOR AWARD
Lois Clark, Kelly Elementary School, for leveraging the
collaboration between the PSO and the Wilkinsburg School District
to bring hope, promise and musical instruments into an arts-poor
community.
Robert O'Keefe, retired principal of Dilworth Traditional
Academy, who through research, observation and vision, committed
himself to arts integration for his curriculum and arts experiences
for his students.
Roger Tabler, founder and director of the Pittsburgh Youth
Pops Orchestra, for recognizing that students need practical,
professional skills for successful lives with music, as professionals
or amateurs.
MAYOR'S AWARD FOR PUBLIC ART
STUDIO
for Creative Inquiry, for recognition of a successful track
record support for artist-developed community projects. Since 1989,
the STUDIO for Creative Inquiry has provided infrastructure and
support for artists working on diverse and multi-disciplinary projects
in the public realm.
"Magnolias for Pittsburgh", a public art project
created by Chicago-based artist, Tony Tasset on the corner of Penn
and Seventh Avenues in Downtown Pittsburgh. The breathtaking installation
consists of two painted bronze and four living magnolia trees, and
creates a magical fool-the-eye environment that has wide appeal.
The Tom Museum, a dynamic community art space created by
artist Tom Sarver on Pittsburgh's North Side. Sarver has used his
role as artist-in-residence at the Mattress Factory to physically
create an artspace that facilitates art exhibitions, workshops and
experimentation, all to engage the local community in thoughtful
and unique ways.
